THAT’S A WRAP BLAS 2024

Thanks to all who attended and supported Blas 2024. Check back soon for updates on the festival in 2025!

Ranganna Gaeilge / Irish classes

An chéad sheachtain, déantar blascheardlanna spraíúila den Ghaeilge a chur ar fáil le Pól Ó Flatharta mar áisitheoir. Téamaí san áireamh ná beannachtaí agus cuir in aithne. Tabhair faoi deara go bhfuil na ceardlanna seo oiriúnach do ghlantosaitheoirí amháin. Táimid buíoch d’ Aonad na Gaeilge as urraíocht a chur ar fáil do na ceardlanna seo.
A fun introduction to the Irish language takes place the first week of Blas (25-28 June) and workshops are facilitated by Pól Ó Flatharta. Themes include basic greetings and introducing people. Note these workshops are only suitable for complete beginners. We’re grateful to Aonad na Gaeilge for their ongoing support.

Déantar blaiseadh de ghnéithe cultúrtha na hÉireann a chur ar fáil sa tarna seachtain (1-4 Iúil).
Workshops showcasing elements of of Irish culture take place during the 2nd week (1-4 July).

A Message from Blas Co-Directors Dr Breandán de Gallaí and Dr Conor Caldwell.

As Co-Directors, we are delighted to be working together in leading the Blas International Summer School of Irish Traditional Music and Dance for its 28th edition in 2024.

This year, as ever, we look forward to providing a rich programme of performances and world-class tutelage from experts in the fields of Irish traditional music and dance. Our interests lie in the origins of tradition as well as the potential for contemporising Irish artistic practices, and we hope to exemplify those ideals through this year’s Blas.

We are excited to welcome our tutors and visiting students to our stunning campus on the banks of the river Shannon, in the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance at the University of Limerick.
